Joe Winston, one of the filmmakers behind "What's the Matter with Kansas?" will screen the film, discuss its making, and answer audience questions. Part of the Library's 25th Annual Academy Award Shots Celebration (2hours).

A Read, White and Blue Event featuring a display of vintage and antique cars and bikes, a genealogical book sale and tours of our family history library, plus hourly drawings at noon, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 p.m., along with lots of food, fun and wholesome family fare. Goodwill Industries of Kansas, Inc. will begin free tutor training for adult literacy instructors on Thursday, July 15th. Sessions will be held at the Goodwill Education and Training Center at 1220 E. 1st St. from 9:00am – 12noon or from 6pm – 9pm. There is no charge for training or materials. Trainees must attend all three (3) mandatory sessions on July 15, 22 & 29. After training, tutors will be matched with a waiting list of adults ready to learn to read or scheduled for regular tutoring sessions at the center.
