Local Programs on KPTS

Part of our mission at KPTS is to Entertain, Educate, Engage and Enrich the viewers of south central Kansas. Our locally produced programs play a significant role in this effort. Each week we address some of the most pressing issues facing our community and our state.

KPTS productions include Kansas Week, Ask Your Legislator, Kansas Health Watch and Viewpoint. We also produce documentary style productions such as Oil Dorado: The Life and Times of an Oil Boom and KMEA Music for Life.

We have also partnered with seveal local producers who create programs for KPTS such as It's All Good with Sierra Scott, Salt Secrets at 650 Feet, Meditations of the Flint Hills and others.

In addition, we created Reel Kansas which encourages aspiring producers to submit their work to KPTS. Projects which meet our standards for quality and content are broadcast. Each episode of Reel Kansas is hosted by veteran TV anchor, reporter and photojournalist Larry Hatteberg.
